GARDEN
The garden is made up of four areas, the back garden, the south side garden, the north strip and the front drive. The entire garden boundaries are all made of local dry stone walling over 2 ft thick.
THE BACK GARDEN
30ft x 40ft
This is on three levels. The highest level is a vegetable patch with railway sleeper retaining walls. The second level is a patio area with great views down the Taff-Bargoed valley. The third level has a lawn, a pond and a wooden shed with slate roof ( ft x ft). There are many and various flowers and shrubs in the borders and a plum,greengage and pear tree.
THE SOUTH SIDE GARDEN
12ft x 85ft
There are half barrels containing roses, clematis, a kiwi tree, a Boston ivy and strawberries. There is a strip of grass with daffodils, tulips and irises within it along with a pear, a cherry and an apple tree. There is a blackcurrant ,a redcurrant and a gooseberry bush near the border wall.
THE NORTH STRIP
80ft x 10ft
This is on two levels. One level is on the same height as the ground floor of the building, the other level is sloping. At the back of the building it’s almost as high as the 1st floor. The lower level is a slate shingle path. The upper level has has meadow grass and various small shrubs.
THE DRIVE
22ft x 60ft
There is room for 5 cars at a squeeze but 3 cars can easily come and go. The surface is gravel within the red ,wooden gate and tarmac on the lay-by. The walls adjacent to the road are mortared and have black, wrought iron railings along them. There is a rockery bed in the north east corner with an apple tree in it.
